Experiential learning, also known as ‘Learning by Doing,’ is a method of engaging students in the learning process. Following this approach, the facilitator at KRM ensures that students have equal opportunities to acquire comprehensive knowledge and grow intellectually, creatively, emotionally, socially, and physically. When students learn, they apply their theoretical skills practically, which improves critical thinking, logical conceptualization, and self-confidence.
Experiential learning is provided by K. R. Mangalam through a variety of activities such as Active Experimentation, Marketing Management, Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL), Hydroponics, and others.
The Multiple Intelligences approach to learning helps students understand what they learn better. Students’ linguistic, numeracy, art, music, nature, spatial, and kinesthetic skills are reinforced, allowing them to use their unique abilities. Such skills are acquired through extracurricular activities, but they are essential for enhancing the teaching curriculum in a variety of ways. Infinite combinations of curricular and co-curricular skills can be used to simplify a concept’s understanding.
For example, one child may better understand a concept through visual means, whereas another may absorb the same concept through music. The Multiple Intelligences approach allows students to broaden their capabilities by exploring different horizons of learning methodologies.
PROJECT BASED LEARNING
The school offers Project-Based Learning to students in order to instill and develop deep content knowledge, as well as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills. This is a learning method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working on a concept, idea, or problem for an extended period of time. A ‘Project’ is a process that keeps students engaged in research, problem-solving, innovations, creations, and presentations.
Throughout an academic session, we engage our students in a variety of projects based on a wide range of subjects such as science, technology, economics, the environment, social concerns, and politics, among others.
PERSONAL SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION (PSPE)
Our school is dedicated to promoting students’ personal, social, and physical well-being. PSPE is achieved by developing concepts, knowledge, and attitudes that contribute to overall well-being. PSPE activities at KRM cover aspects of students’ experiences at school and beyond. As a result, it encourages self-discovery, strengthens interpersonal relationships, and promotes an active and healthy lifestyle. At KRM, STEAM education develops creators, thinkers, problem solvers, doers, innovators, and inventors. It is an interactive teaching technique that increases student engagement through labs such as Robotics, Mathematics, Science, and Arts, allowing them to better learn the mechanism and grasp the concept. STEAM teaches students to be innovative in the digital age and prepares them to confidently represent themselves on global stages.
