Senior Librarian

Job Description:

Senior Librarian will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the library. They will work closely with other members of the library team, as well as with faculty and staff across the college, to ensure that the library is providing high-quality services to students and faculty. The Senior Librarian will also play a key role in developing and implementing a vision for the library that aligns with the school vision and mission statements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including supervising library staff and managing the library collections.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the library that align with the school mission and goals.
  • Provide reference and research services to students and faculty.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with faculty and staff across the school to ensure that the library is meeting their needs.
  • Plan and coordinate library programs and events, such as book clubs, author visits, and information literacy workshops.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends in library science and higher education, and make recommendations for new services and resources as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Library Science or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in library management or a related field.
  • Knowledge of library principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in library technology and information systems.
  • Familiarity with academic libraries and their operations.
